Supporting Mariners

Mariners are the backbone of the global commerce, transporting billions of tons of cargo each year across the world's oceans and along our nation's inland waterways. Their labors greatly impact the world's economy.

Assisting the work of the Galveston Seafarers Center gives support to these individuals who deliver the goods that make our modern way of life possible. The Galveston Seafarers Center provides many ways to get involved. Please take a moment to read about; making a financial contribution, volunteering, collecting gifts for Seafarers, becoming a sponsor and corporate giving.

The Galveston Seafarers Center strives to be a good steward of all of its resources: volunteers, staff and financial contributions. Investing its assets in the future of the maritime community, we use the dollars you give wisely and to the fullest extent.

Some people support our Center because of the professional services we provide to the maritime industry. Others support the Center as a way of participating in the mission of their religious affiliation. The Galveston Seafarers Center enables affiliations across a wide and diverse spectrum. All of them work together to make a better tomorrow for the hardworking mariners of the world.

To make a financial contribution, simply click on our 'donate' button located at the top of any page or click here. You can also contact us by phone at 409.762.0026 to make a contribution over the phone with a debit or credit card.

You can double the support your contribution provides to mariners if your company offers gift matching. If you want to know more about matching gift programs and how you can participate, click here.

We also offer automatic donation options for an efficient and manageable donation spread over the course of one (1) year. Click here to learn more about a recurring gift.

With a network of volunteers county-wide, the Galveston Seafarers Center makes sure that no matter where their rigorous work takes them, mariners have someone on who they can depend. We offer many ways volunteers can contribute to the work of the Seafarers Center, including;

Organizing a supply drive for Seafarers

Service projects and educational outreach opportunities for children and adolescents

Ship visiting, welcoming mariners and offering hospitality at the Seafarers Center

Transporting Seafarers to desired locations within Galveston County

Advocate for Seafarers welfare

Fundraising and special events

Volunteering at the Seafarers Center not only serves the needs of mariners, but can also be a rewarding association with individuals from other states and countries. The Galveston Seafarers Center empowers many different people to work together on various projects to support the well being of all Seafarers.
