SEAing the Need

Each year, thousands of Seafarers arrive on hundreds of vessels to the Port of Galveston. Most crews consist of persons from diverse underdeveloped countries and from many cultures. Many mariners are lonely, away from home and their families for up to a year at a time. The need and opportunity for rest, relaxation, connection and ministry to these individuals is tremendous.

The Galveston Seafarer Center staff and volunteers make ship visits to provide fellowship to the crew members, offer prayer support and provide secular literature in various languages. When visiting our Center, Seafarers have access to free Wi-Fi, laptops, telephones, television, billiards, refreshments, a donation center and on-site chapel. Transportation to local shopping and places of worship is also available upon request.

World outreach is in our own backyard and we would be honored to partner with you to further our outreach to men and women in need of our services. Seafarers ministry is not possible without the financial support, as well as our volunteer service teams. If you are interested in learning ways in which you can become involved, please click here.
